Course Information
Learn how you can integrate acupuncture into a multidisciplinary treatment model, to assist a client who may present with problems using / abusing alcohol, sugar, nicotine, heroin, cocaine or cannabis etc.
This course has been uniquely put together to help you develop and improve your practical clinical skills in accurately assessing and treating the complex issue of addictions.
It has been designed to help enable you improve the clinical outcomes for your clients, develop further clinical acupuncture skills, explore the practitioner development issues related to addictions, understand importantly when to refer patients on, and to develop your Qi.

- Deepen and enhance your understanding of the effects of these drugs on the body.
- Learn the basic patterns of disharmony of addictions in relation to TCM and Western medical models.
- Identify a number of clinically useful points, a variety of dietary therapy approaches.
- Learn 6 simple QiGong exercises to use with yourself and with your clients.
You will learn;
- How to effectively integrate disciplines of TCM into an integrated effective treatment plan.
- Develop treatment strategies to help patients.
- Learn the strengths and weaknesses of interventions.
- Importantly when to refer your patients on to others for appropriate help when red flags appear.
- You will discuss how and when to effectively use acupuncture and its adjunctive techniques in treating your clients,
- How to formulate principles of treatment, treatment plans and points prescriptions based on the TCM patterns of disharmony.
[/x_accordion_item][x_accordion_item title=”Can I attend?” open=”false”]The course has been uniquely devised for practising and final year therapists of all disciplines who hold professional insurances that will cover them for the use of acupuncture within their scope of practice, and who have an interest in developing and enhancing their clinical skills.
- Acupuncturists (BAcC, BMAS, ATCMA etc.).
- Osteopaths (Dry needling).
- Chiropractors (Dry needling).
- Physiotherapists (AACP).
- Etc.
A working knowledge of acupuncture (any particular style) is required.[/x_accordion_item][x_accordion_item title=”Before you attend” open=”false”]
- Refreshments and lunch sadly are not provided.
- You will need to bring a pen or pencil, we will be providing everything else; full colour course notes, all of the training equipment etc.
- You will be formatively assessed throughout the course by the tutor, with them providing you with constructive feedback and instruction.
- All participants must be prepared to give and receive treatments during the training, and a must be over 18 years old.
- If you are fasting for religious or other reasons you must inform the tutor before the course commences.
- As a participant you must have a sound working knowledge of Acupuncture.
- Due to the practical hands on nature of the course the minimum number of participants is 6.
