Acupuncture and the Fascia : The Treatment of the Superficial Acupuncture Muscle Channels an amazing CPD course

This 1-day course has been designed for acupuncturists with an interest in acute or chronic Musculo-skeletal conditions and sports injuries. It will explore the amazing the link between the fascia and the Muscle / Sinew channels of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and how they link in with western musculoskeltal diagnosis.

You will be shown how to design and develop further, with clinical reasoning, treatment plans incorporating this link, and there will be practical needling session based on case studies, and will include a review of the research findings on the anatomy and functions of the fascia in the body.

This course is suitable for:
The course has been uniquely devised for practising and final year therapists of all disciplines who hold professional insurances that will cover them for the use of acupuncture within their scope of practice, and who have an interest in developing and enhancing their clinical skills.

Acupuncturists (BAcC, BMAS, ATCMA etc.).

Osteopaths (Dry needling).

Chiropractors (Dry needling).

Physiotherapists (AACP).

Etc.

A working knowledge of acupuncture (any particular style) is essential, all participants must have a sound working knowledge of anatomy. A working knowledge of TCM channel system is beneficial but not essential.

What will I learn ?
The course includes a presentation of research findings on fascia and interpretation of what might constitute a meridian in the human body; it provides an exploration of the muscle channel system as well as a rationale for the use of superficial muscle channels to treat (acute) Musculoskeletal conditions; and, a hands on practical needling session based on a variety of case studies on Musculoskeletal conditions.
By the end of the day you will have;

developed an understanding of the characteristics and western concept of the fascia.

developed further an understanding of the superficial muscle channels exploring thier pathways, binding sites, and their clinical applications.

developed an understanding of how to create and apply a clinically reasoned treatment plan for the treatment of superficial muscular conditions.

Information you need to know before booking

Regular formative assessment is undertaken throughout the course to help the learner develop confidence in palpating, identifying and tracing the muscle meridians.

Regular feedback will be given by the tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate.

Overall progress will be discussed with individuals at the end of the course.

Refreshments and lunch sadly are not provided.

You will need to bring a pen or pencil, we will be providing everything else; full colour course notes, all of the training equipment etc.

NOTE

All participants must have read, understood and returned to the CPD Group the confidentiality and screening document prior to any needling taking place on the day.

You must consent to give and receive treatments during the training and must be over 18 years of age.

You will receive on the day a full set of colour notes.

Due to the practical hands on nature of the course the minimum number of participants is 6.
