Acupuncture – Myofascial trigger point release using acupuncture.

Acupuncture – Myofascial trigger point release using acupuncture. A CPD course.

The workshop had been designed to teach you to diagnose and locate trigger points and their referral patterns in myofascial tissues, to use acupuncture needles to de-activate trigger points, and to apply appropriate stretches to affected muscle to restore full range of movement.
This 1-day practical hands on workshop is an Introduction on how to treat trigger point in the neck and shoulder using acupuncture, and will offer you both the theoretical and practical approaches that are used in the Western style management of myofascial trigger points. It has been especially designed for acupuncture practitioners, and offers an insight into the theory and western evidence based background of trigger points, as well as practical needling sessions under supervision.

It will offer you a safe and stimulating environment, in which trigger point acupuncture techniques will be examined and practised, to enhance your professional development. You will be introduced to the basic principles and theory underpinning the principles of trigger point therapy, which was founded on the work of Travell and Simons. During the day the anatomy of muscles, muscle function and range of motion will be explored to aid in the management of myofascial trigger points.
