In 2007, a group of acupuncture graduates from the University of Westminster asked me to create and teach an ear acupuncture course. After its success, I saw a need for more bespoke CPD courses where professionals could cross-fertilise their disciplines and skills.
Drawing on my experience as a healthcare practitioner and tutor for almost 30 years, I founded my own company, CPDG Limited. I have a Masters in Education and a special interest in ear acupuncture, driving its inclusion as a profession in the CNHC. My role on the Microsystems Acupuncture Regulatory Working Group, and the Brititsh Acupuncture Councils Governing board, has given me unparalleled insights into CAM professions.
As a practitioner myself, I offer Acupuncture, Tuina, Qi Gong and TCM dietary therapy. Furthermore, I have set up and still run the New Ash Green Rugby Club treatment team, the UK’s only multi-disciplinary, multi-bed unit, now into its 17th playing season.
We have over
"It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows."
Epictetus’ quote reminds us that preconceived notions and biases can hinder our own learning. Being humble and curious allows us to explore new ideas and deepen our understanding of the world.
Ignorance is often fueled by the ego and recognising that there is always more to learn is essential for our growth and development. In short, having an open mind is crucial.
Learn something new every day
Learning is an essential part of human growth and development. It is an ongoing process that never ends. Every day presents a new opportunity to gain knowledge and experience.
By making a conscious effort to learn something new every day, we can broaden our horizons and expand our understanding of the world around us. Learning can come from a variety of sources such as books, articles, podcasts, videos, and personal interactions with others. It can be about any topic, big or small and can help us gain new skills, improve our problem-solving abilities, and enhance our lives in countless ways.
If we commit to making learning a daily habit, we will surely reap the benefits of a more fulfilling and enriched life.
