After moving to England in the 1990s and after raising a family, she enrolled at the University of Westminster in London and undertook a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her desire was to combine the two disciplines and make them work together to enhance effective treatment outcomes.
The western approach to acupuncture introduced her to an evidence-based approach to clinical reasoning and application of acupuncture within physiotherapy treatments. Paradoxically, it also brought greater understanding of the value of TCM in the modern world, as it allows the exploration of underlying conditions.
Her enthusiasm in using acupuncture and physiotherapy together is what helped her decide to study for a post-graduate teaching certificate so that she could try and interest other health care practitioners the value of these disciplines.
Currently she works in private acupuncture practice in Ely, Cambridge, in a physiotherapy practice, and is the assistant coach / physio at Cambridge and Coleridge athletics club, and physio for the Shelford rugby club in Cambridge.
