This course has been uniquely designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge, necessary to handle the complex psychological challenges that arise from a cardiac arrest.
Throughout the day you will explore the psychological issues related to the care of patients and their families, and learn how to utilise coping mechanisms, communication techniques, and support systems, to deliver compassionate care.
The focus of the course is to enhance your understanding of the emotional and mental impact of dealing with such critical scenarios, helping you provide care that is sensitive and holistic in its approach.
By attending this CPD course, you will gain essential tools and knowledge to manage the psychological implications of cardiac arrests, and be better equipped to navigate the complex emotional landscape that such emergencies generate.

- Am I assessed?
On this course the emphasis will be on interactive discussions and participation in small working groups. While there will be no formal assessments, we encourage attendees to actively engage with the material and take advantage of the opportunity to learn from each other and their their peers.
- How long is it?
The course runs over 1-day face to face clinical training day.
- Do I get a certificate?
You will receive a CPD certificate recognised by your professional asscoaition valid for 7 hours CPD.
We send you a hard copy by post, and an e-certificate electronically for your files.
- Raymon O'Brien
Raymond has spoken at the prestigious Royal London Teaching Hospital on the subject of the psychological effects of surviving a cardiac arrest, be this trauma or STEs after the NDE. He has been published by the John Hopkins University on the subject of near death and the lack of care and understanding of this in the medical world, as well as about how he incorporates his own NDEs in his own practice of helping survivors of NDE/STEs. Raymond is a member of the British Association of Counselors and Psychotherapists

Before you attend
- Access to the VLE element of the course is included and should be compelted prior to the course
- Due to the practical discursive on nature of the course, the minimum number of participants is 6, and a maximum of 12.
- Refreshments and lunch sadly are not provided.
- You will need to bring a pen or pencil, we will be provide you with everything else; full colour course notes, all of the training equipment etc.
